Today, 11/12, 19:30, Jason Michaelidis and Liz Mestheneos will read from her new book of poems “Love, lust and loss”. 

Dr. Elizabeth Mestheneos, a UK trained sociologist and academic, moved permanently to Greece in 1983
where she worked in film production with her husband (Fotis Mestheneos), and then as an independent
social researcher from 1988, publishing widely on refugees, ageing and other subjects (see
www.researchgate.com) She started writing poetry in 2009 and has published two books: “I don’t eat fish
and other poems” (2019) and “Love, Lust and Loss” (2024) , both translated by Iason Michaelidis. She
participated with poetry in the Artens Festival, Athens 2019, and the Mink Festival 2020. In addition, she
has written two plays – “Cares” with Elena Tsimbelaki, and published a play on disability and ageing
“Pirate Island”. She is learning to dance better and enjoys this.
