In his exhibition “Crosses”, with gushing inventiveness and artistic excellence, Giotis Balodimos presents a series of sculptural cruciform works that compose an outstanding alphabet of inspiration, economy of means, recycling and reuse of ephemeral materials and extraordinary craftsmanship. Wood and fabrics, pins and nails, plaster and wax, plastic waste, ropes, warps and rags, chains and metal filings or sheets, are molded and woven, embroidered and painted, joined together and almost miraculously transformed into aesthetic and conceptual self-perfections.

In self-sufficient organic islands governed by a visible conceptual starting point, wise economy of means, simple humor and welcome stage tenderness.
